2 Days of New Releases, 4 New Template Kits (and a Freebie)

It was an extremely busy weekend as GingerScraps had two days of new releases. Friday was our normal release day, and Saturday was the start of March Buffet. Needless to say, there are fun choices with my digital scrapbook template kits. From the traditional to the pocket scrapper, all the kits have a dash of fun and unique looks for your layouts.

Without further ado, here are the kits released Friday, February 28, 2014. Both kits are 30% off from now until March 6, 2014.

Strip Stripe is a continuation of the paper strip templates I started before I was at GingerScraps. The freebies were some of my highest downloads. These pages have a variety of photo spots from small to big. Using a template with the strips already in place make it easy to achieve the multiple paper look. Simply pick your favorite papers and clip them to the strip masks.

My {Family} Story is part of the My Family pocket page/life project series. As many know, I needed to add a little fun to the traditional pocket pages. You can still create your daily and weekly layouts with customized masks and frames to enhance your layouts and provide instant thematic looks.

Traditional scrappers have found ways to use the My Story kits for a more traditional layout. Missi used all four of the templates to scrap about an exciting family event. By adding her photos, papers of her choice and a few embellishments, she scrapped four stunning layouts in no time at all.

Here are all the gorgeous layouts from my creative team using Strip Stripe and My {Family} Story. Take note there are letter size layouts from my talented creative team member Yavonn. She has found great ways to convert the 12x12 templates. You can use her layouts as an example of how to make your own conversions.
Saturday, March 1, 2014, was the start of GingerScraps monthly buffet. For those not familiar with it, the designers are all given the same color palette, and sometimes a theme, to create kits. From the 1st to the 5th, all the Buffet kits are 50% off.

Waiting for Spring is the first of two Buffet kits I released. They were inspired by some of my past layouts but I updated them with how I was feeling the day I worked on them. We have had such beautiful weather, you would never know it was winter in Utah. Then it changed and we had several storms hit. I didn't realize how happy I was with the sun out and the birds chirping until we had gray skies, cold winds and heavy rains.

The second Buffet kit is My {Lucky} Story. The My Story line definitely needed a St. Patrick's Day kit. This one has a four-leaf clover and Celtic knot circle tied into the whole page composition and frame. Along with a regular pocket page template and a "Lucky" titled frame, you have everything you need to scrap the Irish-themed day. The kit works for other themes, as well: Ireland vacations, celebrating the people you feel lucky to know and the simple joys of every day life.

My creative team was unbelievable this last week. I am always in awe of the great layouts they make, especially when they are given four kits in one week. They never fail to make beautiful work. The following are their creations for Waiting for Spring and My {Lucky} Story. We also have a guest member this week, Danielle, who provided outstanding work for the My {Lucky} Story kit.

Last Friday I hosted the Night Owl Chat at GingerScraps. Instead of making a quick gift for the gals who joined the chat, we played a game which resulted in a new template. A few weeks ago, Jill from Created by Jill Scraps played Mad Libs with all the chatters. I thought it might be fun to do something fun and out of the ordinary, like Jill had done. I wanted to do something scrappy but I have learned we have a chatty bunch who like to visit with one another during the chat hour.

And so we played! Using the chat list, each person was allowed to give me one instruction to build a template. They could give me any detail and I would have to follow it. If they were not specific, then I had some liberty. After getting all their instructions, I posted an image of what I ended up with. It was a hot mess.

One of the gals called it Mad Libs for scrapbooking. I knew I needed to spend some time playing with all the elements they gave me and fine tune the look. I loved the Mad Lib idea, so I used it. This is the first look at the first ever Ginger Scraps Mad Page chat template, and it is available only to those ladies who attended the chat and those who visit this post:

I have had so many nice emails and Facebook posts over the last few weeks. Thank you to all of you for your feedback about my template designs. I have appreciated both the praise and suggestions. I also spent time going through the GingerScraps gallery and I love everything I am seeing. Well done to all of you posting your LissyKay layout.

Don't forget these important dates for the new kits:

And a quick announcement, newsletter subscribers are automatically entered into a weekly drawing for a free kit. This started two weeks ago and we have had two winners thus far. How it works is when I send my newsletter out with all the new releases, at the end of the newsletter will be the name of the person who won for that week. All winners are randomly selected. You can subscribe for the newsletter here.

Have a wonderful week and I hope you have terrific moments to scrap!

Sparkle & Shine!
Melissa
